WELCOME TO THE REGIONAL OFFICE OF EDUCATION #39

Schools may now register for the 2023 Scripps Spelling Bee. The enrollment fee of $175 will remain in affect for the entire enrollment period until December 31, 2023. Teachers at enrolled schools will have access to spelling and vocabulary materials for the 2022-2023 school year.

Bee Week 2023 will take place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in the Washington, D.C. More details still to come.

What do you receive for your enrollment? They provide access to everything you need to organize classroom and school spelling bees, including:

  • Word lists and study lists for grades 1-8,

  • The 2023 Classroom Pronouncer Guide for administering classroom spelling bees,

  • The 2023 School Pronouncer Guide for administering a school spelling bee,

  • The Bee's online testing platform,

  • Words of the Champions, the 4,000-word study resource for your school spelling bee champion,

  • The Great Words, Great Works reading list with all source books for the School Spelling Bee Study List, organized by grade level,

  • Supplemental vocabulary materials for classroom and school levels,

  • Award certificates for participants and your school champion

Parents should contact their child’s school to determine who the school or district “key” contact is to request a copy of the student study list. Parents can purchase an eBook version of the Words of the Champions booklet through Amazon.
