Provisional Waiver of the Constitution Test Requirements
Provisional Waiver of the Constitution Test Requirements

Friday, May 08, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) has temporarily postponed the administration of the U.S. and Illinois State Constitution and the Flag Test (“Constitution Test”) through May 31, 2020. During the period of time in which testing is unavailable for the Constitution Test, to avoid undue hardship for test takers who have already completed their GED®, HiSET®, or TASC™ exam, the ICCB has issued a provisional waiver of the Constitution Test requirement for candidates who have already completed and passed a high school equivalency exam.
This waiver of the Constitution Test requirement is provisional and is effective through September 30, 2020, by which time the candidate must schedule, take, and pass the Constitution Test to receive their official Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate. It will not be possible to provide a printed Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate for these candidates until their Constitution Test requirement has been completed.
